A few years ago, if someone had told me that one day my life would be reduced to two words—Gratitude and Joy, I probably wouldn't have believed them. It wasn’t that I was pessimistic. It was maybe because I had seen too much darkness to trust such simplicity.
Today, I truly earned those two words. I am not grateful today because I have achieved something or became successful. Nor did money or relationships bring me joy. I earned them by walking through suffering without allowing it to make me bitter.
My gratitude today doesn't feel naive. And I know it deeply because it's not the gratitude of someone whose life went according to the plan.
AWAKEN took longer than expected. My first film is taking more than expected. My career still remains uncertain. Somewhere in between all this, Love arrived in a form I couldn't fully hold. My family still worries about me. The future remains unwritten. And yet: Gratitude and joy.
Looking back at my journey, I don’t see an awakened man, or a filmmaker, or a writer. I don't even see someone who found his purpose. All I see is a man who slowly learned that life was never the enemy. Because for a long time I was fighting: circumstances, pain, loneliness, the future, fighting my own self.
But somewhere along the way, the fight ended. And once that happened, everything changed.
So when I say — "Gratitude & Joy. Nothing else."
It’s not a slogan. It’s more of a conclusion. A conclusion written by someone who knows exactly what the alternative feels like.
