1. Ever looked at the world around you for a moment or the people around you and wondered where exactly are we going & in what direction, collectively, as people, as individuals? If no is your answer, what are you even doing in your life? Doesn’t it bother you at all that what’s happening around us is sick?
2. Looking around, observing what people do, how fucked up everyone’s lives are, the things from day-to-day routine to the things that impact our economy, just everything, I can’t help but ask this question: what is wrong with you all people? Where is our civilization headed? How long before it all comes down crashing and what if there is an extinction in the near future? I might be one delusional man but I honestly feel everybody else are living in a delusion too where they don’t even acknowledge what’s going on in their own lives.
3. There are many things on my mind, I will try to point out everything and anything I can think of. One such thing is the fact that we ‘Humans’ don’t even know where we came from. According to many experts, it’s only been 6000 years since we are civilized and many new researchers challenged this idea and came forward with new theories saying some far more advanced civilizations were in existence dating back to 18,000 BC. Well, am a nobody when it comes to archaeology & geology, but what am saying is just think about it, think about the fact that how far we have come. If you even know anything about the start of human civilizations and if you understand our ancient history, I am damn sure you will be thinking twice the next time when you say/hear/talk about how advanced our civilization is. In my opinion, we are nothing when compared to these ancient civilizations. All that these modern civilizations and industrialization made us in thousands of years is to fail us, to make us weak. All we are doing is chasing technology and help it take us over in the coming decades and centuries. People 10,000 years ago knew more about astronomy, geology, the sun, the earth and what it takes to preserve the planet more than any of us and they designed their societies based on those facts so that we humans could evolve and humanity continues to exist for coming million years. But I am sure you all will agree if I say something did go wrong in the process, we can’t point our fingers on the exact timeline or place where it went wrong but it did for sure. In just 2 decades, we have seen an alarming rise in the global climate concerns. Animal species going extinct, global warming, forests and water on the edge of extinction, global pandemics every now and then, these didn’t happen a couple centuries ago. I don’t think am too foolish to believe how technology & industrialization has had such a huge negative impact on us as human beings, our social lives and on our planet. And the sad part is there is nothing significant we can or are doing to bring the balance.
4. I can’t help but wonder, does all this has anything to do with the fact that people are slowly devolving? It’s like, as years are passing, there is less and less of humanity alive in us. People are so caught up in their routines that they need some kind of external triggers or external motivation to give them a reality check, to make them realise what they are and what they really need. Slowly we are starting to find our pleasures in pain, in sufferings & in toxic substances. Even after thousands of years of existence, we humans still did not figure out how to love each other or how to bring among us the harmony. I talk to 10 different people around me and on most of them, I can see cowardice written all over their faces. I mean people are so fucking afraid of even sharing love, confessing, confronting each other, sharing their opinions, speaking out with honesty, listening to others, acceptance, forgiveness and so on. These are the things that makes us ‘HUMAN’ and how are we even supposed to be human beings when we are not doing all these? Where is humanity even headed? The world is a mess outside, so much shit happening in & around our lives. But are we ever willing to fix things? Are we even willing to accept things? Are we willing to change? These are the questions you need to ask yourselves on an individual level.
5. In recent times, with rise in technology and availability of social media, it completely changed the way we are living our lives, like literally our whole lives are just fucked up. Just imagine a world without social media, for those who are ready with your arguments by stating how positively it impacted on knowledge sharing or how effective & time saving it is in the flow of information, I will just say one thing: in thousands of years of existence, many advanced civilizations around the world operated in far more efficient ways, they communicated, they shared knowledge, they interacted better than us all without the use of social media, right until just few decades ago. Also just take a pause and think about what information that these sites are throwing at your face every day, every minute and how much of that is actually helping you become the best version of yourselves? The constant blend of pleasure & stress coming from scrolling through social media completely changes the way our brain functions. It’s sick, social media is designed to make us addicted and its effects are as bad as any other drug that’s out there on the market if not, worse.
6. Back in the day, we read newspapers, watched the news on television. Any goddamn news, be it politics, war or climate change or whatever it is, we made ourselves aware of it and then went about our lives smoothly. But now, with social media, it’s a completely different world. We humans collectively developed this habit of voicing out opinions, commenting on anything and everything. Why? Why did we develop this urge to have an opinion and even going further as to make statements about literally anything, even things that hold zero value to us and we are arguing, we are judging, we are criticizing over these goddamn things. Don’t you get my point? It’s sad what happened to us in these last 2 decades. A celebrity changed his hairstyle, we don’t need a fucking discussion on this matter, yet we are judging, arguing and passing over statements. A tiger attacked someone and we are sitting here analysing and decoding how that man could have been more careful & what he could have done differently or criticizing how mean and dangerous that tiger is for attacking a human being. Like what the fuck? Why do we need to have an opinion on every goddamn thing? Why is it that we feel a need to correct or judge someone constantly? Don’t you think we are all developing a superiority complex gradually? Wakeup, open your fucking eyes and see to it yourselves.
7. The world is a better place only when we stay away from all this nonsense. We don’t need it; we don’t need this dump of new information at our fingertips every goddamn second. Humans are better off of social media. Go back to the basics, rewire your brain to its primal state, understand that we are still animals and no way superior to other species or to our own. We are all fishes in an aquarium, but we belong to the ocean, think about it.
